ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Rachel Jones is an Australian science fiction author writing dark, emotionally driven stories of apocalyptic thrillers, cosmic horror, brutal survival, and tragic romance. Her work explores the darker corners of humanity, where grief, love, fear, and curiosity of the unknown collide.

Born and raised in Western Australia, Rachel grew up surrounded by bushland and wide night skies. Her love of space, nature, and storytelling was deeply shaped by her older brother, who first encouraged her to look up at the stars and wonder about what might exist beyond them. That sense of curiosity, wonder, and endless possibility continues to influence her writing today.

Her debut novel, Under a Fractured Sky, begins her works with a universe on the brink of collapse. The novel combines apocalyptic science fiction, high-stakes survival, a dystopian world government, all wrapped up in a fast-paced, action packed thriller.

She later turned her attention to attempt something darker with Dead Horizon, a standalone sci-fi horror novella filled with blood, body horror, and brutal survival. Set against the unknown of a new world, the story explores what happens when humanity's hope for a new beginning becomes something far more terrifying.

Outside of writing, Rachel balances her creative life with full-time work and motherhood. She continues to find inspiration in the people she loves, the natural world around her, and the endless night sky that first sparked her imagination.

Her stories are dark, fast-paced, occasionally brutal, and never afraid to cause some emotional damage.
