ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Rachel Jones is an Australian speculative fiction author writing emotionally driven science fiction, horror and soon — romance.

She is the author of Under a Fractured Sky, and her standalone novella Dead Horizon, alongside several works currently in development.

Her work explores grief, love, hatred and survival through collapsing worlds, the vastness of space or encounters with the unknown.

Born and raised in Western Australia, Rachel grew up surrounded by bushland and wide night skies. Her love of space, nature, and storytelling was deeply shaped by her older brother, who first encouraged her to look up to the stars and wonder about what lay beyond them — an influence that continues to guide her writing today.
